This 254,000 SF, mixed-used parking structure project began with a request from the Plumbers Union for a structure that could increase attendance at their events without straining neighboring residential roads.

This 6-story architectural marvel has not only revolutionized parking convenience but has also become a catalyst for positive change in the Fulton Market area since its completion in 2022. It provides a safe haven for vehicles, with 502 parking spaces and 36 bicycle spaces. Its thoughtful design goes beyond traditional parking facility concepts by seamlessly integrating features that enhance the community’s experience, such as at-grade level retail opportunities, a second-floor retail space, and deck amenities for the Plumbers Union.

Plumbers Union Parking Garage provides ample parking options to encourage people to explore Fulton Market and the greater West Loop neighborhood on foot. With a façade that pays homage to the area’s historic buildings, it integrates the architectural heritage of the West Loop with a modern touch. Large cutout planters adorn the parking deck, lending a touch of modern residential charm and fostering a sense of unity with its newer neighbors.

The Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) has recognized the extraordinary efforts of the Plumbers Union, W.E. O’Neil, OKW Architects, and the entire project team through a first-place award for New Construction – Chicago (Above $20M) in 2023.
