Scope W.E. O’Neil, facilitated a two phase approach to the renovation of the original student center at the University of California, San Diego, designed by Public Architecture. This phased renovation of an existing student center included 3,400 SF of demolition, a new 6,500 SF two-story steel structure including a new general store and computer lounge, interior renovation of 7,500 SF of space, site work and cosmetic upgrades to the entire exterior. In recognition for outstanding design by Public Architecture, the completed project was published in Architectural Record Magazine (November 2007) and was the recipient of American Institute of Architects San Diego Citation of Recognition (2006 and 2008).
