Scope The Heritage Plaza Renovation project involved a full-scale commercial real estate redevelopment of a 30 year old, suburban in-fill neighborhood center, including the exterior renovation of a 44,376 SF Ralphs grocery store and a 21,360 SF CVS pharmacy. Work included adding outdoor seating and eating areas as well as updating the entire façade of the center using stone and stucco materials. This project also added sustainability features including drought-resistant landscaping; addition of more than 200 trees consistent with the region’s natural vegetation; a smart irrigation system that automatically monitors and adjusts to climate data; and new LED parking lot lighting. This successful project has helped re-position the shopping center to enhance retail options for the local consumer base and has resulted in increasing retailer occupancy to 98%.

W.E. O’Neil was retained for Preconstruction Services for this project that involved extensive planning and constructability reviews of the design to ensure a seamless execution of the work.
