|Project||Children’s Memorial Hospital Demolition and Abatement|
|Scope||Demolition of over 800,000 S.F. of buildings on the old Children’s Memorial Hospital site. Project required extensive safety precautions, dust control, fire prevention and close coordination with environmental consultants due its highly residential location.
Utilizing a very innovative and green approach, 100% of the 27,000 cubic yards of concrete removed from the existing structures are being reprocessed on site and used as back fill on the existing site. In addition, 97% of the other materials have been recycled, including the steel.
Crushing and reusing this material eliminated approximately 12,000 trucks from entering and exiting the site. This approach alleviated neighborhood road congestion and noise, minimized fuel and trucking costs and reduced the duration of the demolition work by several months.
