W.E. O’Neil provided full preconstruction and construction services for The Worthington, a 530,000 SF, 31‑story, cast‑in‑place concrete mixed‑use residential tower comprising 359 luxury apartment units and 5,800 SF of ground‑floor retail.
The structural system features an innovative three‑celled concrete core constructed with self‑climbing formwork, enabling accelerated vertical progression and increased structural stability within a tight urban footprint. The tower includes a four‑story, above‑grade parking structure providing 351 resident stalls integrated seamlessly into the podium.
The amenity program scope includes more than 15,000 SF of indoor and outdoor common space, highlighted by a 12th‑floor elevated pool and spa deck with a lighted glass guardrail system requiring specialized anchorage and wind‑load coordination. Additional amenities include a state‑of‑the‑art fitness center, multiple resident lounges, coworking and gathering spaces, and landscaped outdoor environments.
All major building systems—HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection—were delivered through a design‑assist approach, enabling early clash detection, precise MEP integration within the tower’s structural core, and optimized equipment selection to support lifecycle performance.
