John Finn

Chief Operations Officer (National), President (California)

With an insatiable appetite for success, John began his career in the construction industry in 1990 when he started his own finish carpentry business while attending college. He began his career as a project engineer and quickly advanced to project manager overseeing new construction, design-build, and tenant improvement projects in retail, office, and institutional markets.

Since joining W.E. O’Neil, John has been an instrumental part of every project in California and continues to grow the company and inspire employee-owners. His desire to encourage a good work-life balance for all employee-owners while allowing the company to expand has resulted in five California locations, including El Segundo, Irvine, Pleasanton, Rancho Cucamonga, and San Diego.

When he isn’t steering the ship at W.E. O’Neil, he enjoys running marathons, hiking, and traveling to exotic places. His most adventurous hike is Mt. Whitney which he completed in 16 hours in the summer of 2014.

One of the most rewarding things for me is stepping back at times and working ‘on’ the company. The future of our employee-owners is vital to me. We will continue to create opportunities for them in meaningful ways.

John Finn, Chief Operations Officer (National), President (California)
