Matt is a talented Human Resources leader skilled at driving organizational success through strategic human capital management. He is adept at aligning HR initiatives with business goals to enhance productivity, employee satisfaction, and company growth. He is skilled in talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, and fostering inclusive workplace cultures.

Matt is committed to delivering measurable results and optimizing HR operations for maximum impact. As Director of HR in the California region, Matt develops and directs HR policies and activities, and oversees the CA HR department staff.

Matt started his construction journey as an intern for W.E. O’Neil in 2010 as an Assistant Project Engineer and moved up through the ranks to PM. Matt realized that while in the field, he excelled in training people and wanted to do more in personal development. Working in HR has allowed Matt to become a vital player in the human part of the business.

Matt is a part of the W.E. O’Neil Social and Technology Committees, helps in leading the internship program, and is a part-time industry lecturer at UCLA.

Thoughtful leadership to me means acting with clarity, intention, and conviction, practicing empathy and understanding, and recognizing that success is only achieved when we learn and work with each other.
