Located in the heart of downtown Santa Monica and just minutes from the Santa Monica Pier, this 8,437 SF bank and café seamlessly blends a modern design into the existing streetscape. Tucked away in an alley of the property is a loading dock and recycle/refuse enclosure.
As part of Capital One’s new concept in banking, the building houses a ground-floor café along with mobile tellers, while the second floor provides communal office space. The largely transparent exterior provides an open and pedestrian-friendly street-level entrance. Partially screened louvers on the side of the building continue the feeling of transparency, while also providing shade. In addition to adding texture, white glazed brick tiles reflect sunlight keeping the area bright.
