WEOCON 2022: San Diego!
Gathering employee-owners from across the nation—from every department and seniority level—WEOCON is W.E. O’Neil’s annual leadership convention. This year, activities included leadership workshops (such as “A Leader People Love to Follow,” presentation skills, and Working Genius review), group sessions to brainstorm improvements throughout the company, and a very insightful owner/developer panel.
But of course the best thing about WEOCON is the people. Between planned activities, we share with peers about what’s going on in other offices, challenges overcome, leadership lessons learned, and plans for the future.
Fun events this year included an entertaining (and interactive!) luau, a Padres v. White Sox game, and Sunday evening on the beach with fire pits, great tunes, and plenty of s’mores.
The full value of WEOCON is realized after the event when our people bring back what they’ve learned to share with their teammates.
A huge thank you to WEOCON organizers Brad Fry and Pat McGowan, as well as to our special San Diego hosts with the mostest, Bill Hearne and Nancy Hearne (San Diego office leaders), whose extra special hosting talents made this year’s WEOCON, by all accounts, truly the best to date.
Next year’s WEOCON will be in **drum roll** Austin, Texas! We are so excited for our people from across the country to get to know our newest employee-owners at DCA Construction (a W.E. O’Neil Company), who joined the W.E. O’Neil team earlier this year.
