W.E. O’Neil Marks 100 Years and Four Decades in California
Centennial
On October 30, our Arizona team celebrated W.E. O’Neil’s 100th anniversary with an evening of appreciation and connection at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows, joined by our clients, industry partners, and colleagues. The night was filled with meaningful conversations, storytelling, and laughter as we reflected on our shared history and lasting impact, both nationwide and across Arizona’s construction industry.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this historic occasion. Here’s to 100 years of building excellence and to the next century of innovation, collaboration, and success!

Arizona leadership (L-R): Tom Roof (tenure: 1982-1999) and John Hobbs (tenure: 1984-2016)
Did you know? W.E. O’Neil’s presence in Arizona began in 1982 when Art O’Neil, Joe Rotunno, and Tom Roof established T.L. Roof & Associates in Tucson, the company’s first subsidiary and a milestone in its national expansion as O’Neil Industries, Inc. Two years later, Tom Roof established a second T.L. Roof & Associates office in Phoenix, placing it under the leadership of John Hobbs. In 1990, the Phoenix office became W.E. O’Neil Construction Company of Arizona, while the Tucson office continued as T.L. Roof & Associates until 2016, when the two offices merged under the W.E. O’Neil Construction name.
