Julia Randall Elementary is part of the Payson Unified School District No. 10. This new 75,000 SF elementary school features open areas around the structures for outdoor classrooms, play areas, pedestrian circulation, and semi-public gathering areas.
The school includes 29 classrooms, a media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, music room, band room, and administration area. Natural light reduces glare, solar heat gain, and visibility, and exterior shading devices temper interior light levels.
The new school replaced an existing school on site, which was demolished upon completion of the new school, and after the students were relocated from the existing buildings into the new school. The previous school site was converted into new athletic fields, basketball courts, playground areas, and new additional parking areas.
