To accommodate expected future growth and better serve their current population, University of California, Santa Cruz is building Hagar Development. The 131,007 SF Type V-B development is designed to serve as a community for students with families.
The Student Family Housing component will consist of 35 two-story four-plex buildings, providing a total of 140 two-bedroom units tailored to students with families. The project also includes an early phase turnover of an Early Education Center. The facility will accommodate up to 140 children, ranging from infants to school age, and will be housed in a Type V-B, one-story structure complete with administrative support spaces and an outdoor dining and play area.
Additionally, the 17-acre Hagar Development will include amenities such as a community center with a kitchen and administrative support office suites, a 1,500 SF maintenance building with workshop and storage areas, an 800 SF CMU wastewater treatment facility, playgrounds, interior open space areas, a community garden, residential and visitor parking, and associated site infrastructure.
