ENR Midwest recently featured the ElevateT3 project at Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 3, a $300M redevelopment that’s part of the airport’s larger $8.5B O’Hare 21 modernization program.
Led by COT3, a joint venture between Clark Construction Group and W.E. O’Neil, this project will bring major improvements to the 85-gate terminal, including streamlined TSA checkpoints, wider passenger corridors, bigger gate waiting areas, upgraded baggage systems, and modernized concessions, restrooms, and energy efficiency. All work will be done in phases so that Terminal 3 stays open during construction.
ElevateT3 is funded in part by $90 million in federal infrastructure grants and focuses on giving back to the community through local workforce hiring and opportunities for small and diverse businesses.
Set for completion in 2027, the redevelopment is a cornerstone of the O’Hare 21 program, designed to improve the passenger experience and strengthen O’Hare’s position as a leading global airport.
