John Hackett

Project Executive (CA)

John joined W.E. O’Neil in 1989 as a Project Engineer after earning a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He spent his early years at WEO working on a variety of different projects, from aerospace to retail to public works. John has worked on a wide range of projects, including the DIRECTV Los Angeles Broadcast Center, Magic Johnson Theaters, and many other projects throughout Southern California. John also led several successful design-build efforts and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

As a Project Executive since 2008, John’s focus has turned to developing other leaders in the company. John is passionate about ensuring that our employees feel valued and fulfilled, and he does his part through mentoring, coaching, and providing meaningful opportunities for our employees to grow. As John’s wisdom and experience has matured, his responsibilities at W.E. O’Neil have expanded to include leadership roles in several risk aspects of our company, including prime contract reviews, subcontract negotiations, insurance claims, legal issues, and check disbursement.

My favorite W.E. O’Neil core value is 'WE are forthright.' Honesty and integrity are personal values of mine, and I love working for a company that shares my values.
