W.E. O’Neil project managers have a clear and realistic career path and the opportunity for advancement and resources to continue to grow. This included a great training program for soft skills, a mentorship program to help you understand the nuances of the job, and variety in work, including stretch assignments with different markets or building types. We don’t micromanage, so you’ll be given authority to handle your projects. Our executives are engaged (you’ll have a direct line of communication) in a non-hierarchical culture.

Being an employee-owner means my opinion matters. It makes us all work harder because we care MORE about the end results. It also means I’m not working for a big, faceless organization. I am working for ME and this team. It means that I get to see my hard work pay off personally.

What I'd say to construction professionals who are early in their career is: be eager but humble. Don’t try to come in as the boss; accept where you are at and grow from there. Seize every opportunity. Know that your opinion matters. Ask questions. Be the best at your CURRENT job.
