Mike Kalinowski Promoted to National Director of Safety

Mike Kalinowski, National Director of Safety

We’re proud to announce the promotion of Mike Kalinowski to National Director of Safety, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to operational excellence, jobsite safety, and consistent performance standards nationwide.

In his new role, Mike will lead the development and alignment of safety standards, policies, and performance metrics across all offices, helping ensure a consistent and scalable safety framework that supports both current operations and future growth. His leadership will further strengthen our proactive safety culture while driving continuous improvement across teams and projects.

“Mike has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, discipline, and expertise in safety, and this role is a natural progression of the impact he’s already making at W.E. O’Neil,” said Todd Guthrie, Chief Operating Officer.  His ability to build trusted relationships across our operating units will help further align and strengthen the safety culture we’re proud of, while continuing to deliver value to our clients, partners, and employee owners.”

With 17 years of industry experience, including 10 years at W.E. O’Neil, Mike is recognized for his passion for safety, technical expertise, and collaborative, relationship-driven leadership style. His hands-on approach and commitment to accountability have contributed to measurable safety performance improvements across the organization.

Mike’s approach to safety leadership has supported strong, consistent results across the organization. For example, in 2025, we achieved a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.74 across all offices, representing more than 1,085,000 hours worked, significantly outperforming the construction industry average of 2.3. These results reflect the effectiveness of consistent safety practices, strong field leadership, and companywide engagement.

As National Director of Safety, Kalinowski will continue advancing initiatives that prioritize workforce wellbeing, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency, supporting W.E. O’Neil’s mission to deliver high-quality projects safely and responsibly nationwide.
