SAN DIEGO | Rincon Government Center | Tops Out!12 January 2018
Before the end of 2017, our San Diego Team celebrated the steel top out of the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians’ Rincon Government Center Project in Funner, California. In attendance were the Tribal Council and Members of the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians, the Sierra Building Solutions team, W.E. O’Neil’s San Diego Team, and of course our team of Subcontractors. Thank you to all who came to celebrate. We’re excited to showcase the projects progress through this year.
Progress above as of January 12, 2018
The new building combines government offices in a permanent building. The two-story, 43,000 SF complex will house: tribal law enforcement, human resources, finance, legal and administration departments, with support functions such as shared conference and training rooms, as well as tribal council chambers on the second floor. The architectural design features a two-story lobby and entry way, and energy efficient applications throughout. The interior design is comprised of rich textures and patterns adapted from tribal basket weaving art and the historic use of wood and stone as building materials.
“In addition to improved functioning, we are going to use this opportunity to make an artistic statement about our culture by incorporating elements that reflect Luiseño tribal art and with accents featuring natural building materials and indigenous landscaping,” noted Mazzetti.
W.E. O’Neil has been working with the Tribe for more than a decade and we are pleased to continue Building Great Relationships in this region. We are pleased to continue working with our Construction Manager Sierra Building Engineers, as well as building the Design of Worth Group Architects & Designers.
